3D LIVE project is FP7-ICT-2011-12 Call 8 STREP (Small or medium-scale focused research project) Project. 3D LIVE = 3D Live Interactions through Visual Environments The 3D-LIVE project aims to develop and experiment a User Driven Mixed Reality and Immersive (Twilight) platform connected to EXPERIMEDIA facilities in order to investigate the Future Internet (FI) broadband capacity to support Real-Time immersive situations as well as evaluating both the Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Services. The main objective consists to explore 3D/Media technologies and IoT in real and virtual environments in order to sense and experiment live situations. The 3D-LIVE project is built around four main activities: 1. Create a FI Experiential Design methodology including a holistic User Experience    model 2. Design the architecture of the Twilight Platform 3. Prototype the Twilight Platform and 3D Tele-Immersive Environments 4. Experiment and evaluate the Twilight Platform and 3D Tele-Immersive    Environments in conducting the skiing, running and golfing scenarios The objective of the 3D LIVE project is to deliver a virtual reality, immersive environment, rebuilding reality in 3D models, in which users can experience, feel and interact with real environments and real distant users, in real time. 3D LIVE express therefore extraordinary big demands on Future Internet Research and Experimentation facilities, linked to new potential, emerging service sectors, characterized by high requirement level which point towards the potential utilization of Future Internet. It is the intention of the 3D LIVE project to capture those functional and operational requirements (supposedly far more stringent than the ones coming from other application domains) and to generalize them, in a view of making all the FIRE test bed network ready to support such new, emerging industrial sectors and service domains related to real time, multimedia, 3D application. Moreover, 3D‐Live will take advantage of the widespread availability of low‐cost 3D capture devices (Kinect, camera, video cameras) and display technology (3D TVs, laptops, and data projectors) to develop a system that will facilitate low‐cost teleimmersive experience and will be accessible to all.
